National Maple Syrup Taste Off
Does your syrup make the cut? We challenge you and your syrup to participate in the National Maple Syrup Taste-off.
Divisions include:
- Hobbyist (10-250 taps),
- Family Farm (250-1500 taps)
- Master (1500+ taps)
In addition, there will be an open class where you can challenge your syrup to hold the title of “National Maple Syrup Festival Champion.”
If recognition isn’t enough to draw you in, prizes will be awarded. Call (812) 966-2168 with any questions.

Inspired by Wall Drug South Dakota, we’ve captured and harnessed our very own, come see the Man eating Chicken along with other mind boggling oddities.
Ice Bench
Can you withstand the cold? Have a seat on the ice bench for three whole minutes and you get your choice of a free hot cider, hot chocolate, or coffee.
Kids love the challenge and adults love the hot drink!
Old McMaple’s Petting Zoo
What’s a visit to the farm without the animals? We wouldn’t know…
Kids can pet a variety of animals and even ride a miniature pony. No promises, but you might want to get behind the wheel of one of our Goat Carts!
Children’s Play Area
Kids can take a break from the festivals other offerings by jumping in the fun house or playing on the play set.
Horse Drawn Wagon Rides
See fresh tapped maple trees and sip on hot apple cider while on a horse drawn ride your family will reflect on for years to come.
Face Painting
Always a childhood favorite, face painting offers a charming remembrance of the weekend’s activities.
Paul Bunyan & Old Blue Lumberjack Activities
Memories are sure to be made while helping Paul Bunyon and Ole Blue collect sugar sap around the farm. Families can experience what it was like to collect sap prior to modern conveniences of today. If that’s not enough BIG Paul will help you hone your skills on his buck saw challenge. Take home your very own Bunyon branded Maplewood round.
Sand Art
Decorate your own maple leaf bottle with colorful sands to take home. Children will have there very own keepsake from the festival to take home.
Pioneer Games
Children in the past could entertain themselves with homemade games made of common items such as sacks, hoops, sticks, and buttons. Come explore these old fashioned games and have the opportunity to take one home with you.
